Here we are on the World Wide Web! We live in Honduras and work at Hospital Loma de Luz. During Joel’s Family Practice residency training we applied to the Post Graduate Residency Program from Samaritan’s Purse (SP). This program is a two year grant that allows doctors right out of their residency program the opportunity to live and serve at a mission hospital at different places around the world. It gives them a taste of what medical missions looks like. We were accepted into the program but denied the grant because the organization didn’t have enough money. So, we came to Honduras anyway, to visit and see what our possibilities of coming back were. The very day we returned to the US from our visit, we recieved a call from SP that a someone had just donated enough money to send one more doctor overseas. We gladly accepted! We are now done with our two year term with the Post Residency Program. We have joined In His Image International (IHII) and our next term has no termination date.
