Who would drop everything to go live in rural Honduras? Meet the missionaries at Hospital Loma de Luz.

Jeff and Rosanne McKenney established the Cornerstone Foundation in 1992 – Jeff is a surgeon / MD, and Rosanne is a nurse. They and their children—Nate (12/4/91), Gabe (7/7/93) and Hannah (11/19/97)—have been serving at Hospital Loma de Luz since 2000.

Ted and Maggie Faull and their family moved to Honduras in August 2000 — Dr. Ted is the medical director of the clinic at Hospital Loma de Luz. The Faulls have been blessed with five girls: Natalie (7/29/85), Kara (12/14/87), Sharon (4/25/90), Hailey (8/28/92) and Catherine (5/4/95).

Shaw and Sharon Yount are medical doctors with a heart for missions. They are now serving full time at Hospital Loma de Luz.

With her heart's desire to return to the mission field, Norma read in The Cornerstone Foundation's newsletter, "One particular need is for nurses." In 2001she found herself visiting the McKenneys and walking through the halls Hospital Loma de Luz, still under construction. Since that time the Lord has opened doors in miraculous ways for her heart's desire to be fulfilled…serving Him in Honduras.

Kenton and Saundra Brown have been on the mission field full time since August of 1993. They have worked in Colombia, South America and for the last 8 years in Honduras. Their son, Josiah, and his wife live in Ohio.

Mike and Peggy Yost began their missions' journey when they went on a couple of short-term mission trips to the Hospital Loma de Luz in Balfate, Honduras. The Yosts whose hometown is Collins, Ohio have three grown children and four grandchildren. They have been serving as full-time missionaries since December of 2003.

Iain and Liz McKenzie are from Inverness, in the Highlands of Scotland. They became the Host Family, based in La Ceiba, Honduras, in July 2004. In July 2006, they moved to Balfate to begin developing two projects centered around helping Honduran children. Their son, Samuel (12/01/97), is with them in Honduras.

Leon and Judy Greene joined the staff of Hospital Loma de Luz in March 2005. No strangers to Balfate, they had served as short-term missionaries to the hospital yearly since 1999, following Hurricane Mitch. Leon is a cardiologist, and Judy works in children's ministries, Bible studies, hospitality, and helps in the Cardiology and Eyeglass clinics.

John and Penny Alden arrived in Central America in June of 2004 to study Spanish, and they joined the staff at Hospital Loma de Luz in January 2005. John who is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Penny who is a RN call Tulsa, OK their hometown. They have four grown children and two grandchildren.

Don & Suzanne Rumbaugh and their family first came to Honduras in 2000 with a short-term team, then again to serve for a half year in 2002, launching the pastoral training program which is still used for effective teaching and discipling area pastors.

The Bradleys moved to Honduras from the Mississippi Gulf Coast in February 2006. Lisa serves as a full time missionary in administration for the hospital and Cornerstone/APAH in Honduras, as well as ministers to children. Lisa’s sons, Joshua (2/26/93), and Phillip (3/9/90) enjoy ministering to the kids also and are happy to call Honduras home. Her oldest son, Zach (7/13/87), is preparing for the Lord’s calling on his life and attends college in the states.

Mark and Heidi Merritt joined the staff at Hospital Loma de Luz in June 2006. They had previously been involved in several short term mission trips and in 2004 felt God was calling them to full-time missionary work. Mark is a Family Physician and Heidi, a former x-ray technician, is organizing and training in the x-ray department at Hospital Loma de Luz.

Nelson and Margo Concepción began to sense God’s call to Honduras in 2003. After three years of preparation, they and their 3 daughters – Kristyn (11/12/88), Shelby (5/29/91), and Corynn (2/1/97) - arrived in Balfate in August 2006. Nelson is a medical technologist and is currently the director of the laboratory at Hospital Loma de Luz. Margo has worked as a counselor, helps with the missionary home school cooperative, and plans to get involved with ministry at the hospital and in the community.

Josh and Linzy Browning spent the summer of 2004 as short-term missionaries at Loma de Luz, and felt called to return in the spring of 2006 for a two year term of service. Josh’s construction and mechanical skills are always in demand, and Linzy provides math and science tutoring for the junior high and high school missionary kids. The Browning’s call Bozeman, MT home and have one daughter, Guildy (6-13-05).

Renee Kusler is a Family Medicine Doctor from Greeley, Colorado.  She has followed the Lord’s call to serve as a long term missionary at Hospital Loma de Luz and moved there in August 2007.
Renee has a heart for working with pregnant women and providing health education in the surrounding communities
